Glenn Horowitz Bookseller and Grey Area are pleased to present our final East Hampton exhibition of the summer, a text-themed installation of new paintings, sculpture, books, and silkscreens by the celebrated artistic duo of Jonah Freeman and Justin Lowe, running from August 22nd through September 17th, 2014.
The first monograph on the artists, published by Glenn Horowitz Bookseller in conjunction with the exhibition, will also be released. This profusely illustrated volume—printed with two discrete covers—spans their entire joint career, and features texts by Ali Subotnick, Glenn O’Brien, Mark Flood, Gianni Jetzer, Hamilton Morris, and Jan Tumlir, as well as a photographic essay by Todd Eberle and images by Greg Kessler and Joshua White.
An opening reception and book launch will be held on Friday, August 22nd, from 6-8 pm.
Jonah Freeman and Justin Lowe have been collaborating since 2007, and their critically-acclaimed projects range from collages and prints to sculptures and intricate, set-like installations. These immersive and intensely visual experiences have been exhibited in galleries, art fairs, and museums around the world, including Art Basel Switzerland, Winfield House in London, MOCA Los Angeles, Marlborough Chelsea, and Ballroom Marfa, TX. This will be their first solo exhibition in the East End.
